Travis Knobbe is admitted to practice law in Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He is admitted to all federal courts in Virginia and West Virginia. He is also admitted to the federal courts in the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and in the Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. Travis is also admitted in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
After high school, Travis attended Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia, earning a B.A. in 2004 in English Literature with a minor in Political Science.
Travis received his J.D. in 2008 from West Virginia University College of Law while sitting on the West Virginia Law Review and earning membership into the Order of the Barristers, recognizing student achievement in litigation and trial activities during law school.
Travis began his career as a full-time judicial extern for the Honorable Thomas M. Hardiman, Jr., in the United States Circuit Court for the Third Circuit. He then worked as a full-time clerk for the Honorable William F. Stone, Jr., in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia.
After finishing his clerkship, Travis worked 15 of the next 16 years at large law firms. As an associate, he primarily worked for the Honorable Paul M. Black before he took the bench in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia.
Travis developed client relationships early in his career and earned a promotion to member (partner) in just a few short years, one of only three in his graduating class to receive such promotion that early in his career.
Travis believes in taking a client-focused approach to each case, ensuring that his clients are informed and involved throughout the legal process. He is always available to answer questions and provide guidance and works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for each client.
Travis has experience in the following areas of the law: business formation, contract law, general civil litigation, defamation, business torts, fraud, civil RICO, bankruptcy, creditors' rights, construction law, premises liability, personal injury, negligence, copyright infringement, and many more.
Travis has worked as a trial and litigation attorney and has also used that experience to also act as a trusted advisor to help clients understand and protect their rights before a lawsuit ever happens.
