How We Structure the Cases
At TK Law, we also handle personal injury and wrongful death claims on a contingency fee basis. In rare situations, we will require advance payment of hard costs required to pursue those cases, but, otherwise, there are no legal fees unless we prevail in your case.
We are Selective
Unlike some personal injury focused firms, TK Law does not take every potential personal injury case about which we are contacted. In fact, we are highly selective. We are always willing to listen and consult with you, but, frankly, some claims are better suited for high-volume firms or specialty boutiques.
We Do What We Believe In
One of the reasons we are selective in the personal injury / wrongful death claims we take is this: we do what we believe in. We understand that people get injured in myriad ways, often through simple accidents. Parties can be held liable when they are at fault, and there are plenty of attorneys who navigate that process exceptionally well.
We are different. We retain our core values and look to serve clients in two types of situations: (a) where the client has limited options in his or her access to justice (which should be available to all equally); and (b) where the client's injury results from an action taken by someone else (even if not malicious) that stems from a fundamental flaw in how something should function. For example, if you are harmed by an injury caused in part by someone who solicits your business but does not take appropriate efforts to protect you while you are in their establishment or in their care, we have an interest in your case.
Why Do We Limit Our Cases?
We limit our personal injury cases at TK Law for two reasons. First, as a client of the Firm, we owe you our dedicated time, attention, and skill. When we overextend beyond our available time, we give you less of our attention than you deserve.
Second, we simply fight harder for things in which we believe strongly. A routine auto accident may not require as much time and attention to negotiate a satisfactory resolution, but it still requires time. Time is our most finite resource, and that is a universal principle that applies to all of us. We would rather spend that time fighting in situations about which we are passionate.
What Types of Cases Do We Take?
Generally, we take cases that either involve catastrophic injuries or death or that involve deprivations of critical rights that, if left unaddressed, could negatively impact many people's lives. Injuries or death that results from unsecured or improperly secured establishments, that results from easily preventable professional or medical negligence, and injuries or deprivation of rights that result from callous indifference to a person or a group of people because of who they are, what they believe, or what they look like fall within our scope.
